Jam Band Festival Guide

JAM BANDS

Jam Bands are musical groups whose live albums and concerts relate to a unique fan culture that began in the 1960s with The Grateful Dead, and continued in the 1990s with bands like Phish. The performances of these bands often feature extended musical improvisation ("jams") over rhythmic grooves and chord patterns, and long sets of music that cross genre boundaries. Jam Band festivals with camping have helped make jambands popular.

Jam Band Festival Guide believes that bands should appear first on the search engine when you search for them. So, we link directly to the bands. Too many ticket outlets, magazines, and other commercial entities show up before the bands on the search engine. We have good ranking on the search engines. So we share that ranking with the bands by linking directly to them. We could make bio pages about the band. But, the bands can tell you more about themselves than we can. That is only fair. The bands do the work. They deserve the credit. So, click on any of these jam bands to find out what they are about, and improve their ranking on the web.

TAPERS

Jam bands encourage fans to bring recording equipment to live performances and give away copies of what they record. This practice has increased the size of their audiences and the total revenue received from concerts and  the sale of recorded music. This practice has made bands like The Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic have huge followings of fans.
